11/365 - Sweet Baby Nick

Okay, so at least 50% of the time, he’s not exactly “sweet” (bonking his brother on the head, knocking the paci out of his mouth…) and he’s not really a baby anymore…but his name IS Nick!

10/365

This was so hard to capture. Jake emptied the toy box and hid in it and then played with Nick. After a while, Jake took some toys back in the toy box with him, closed the lid and did his thing. Perhaps he was looking for time away from Nick…I don’t really know… But when he’d pop out, Nick would giggle and they’d do it a couple more times. When Jake was hiding, Nick would continue playing with all the toys Jake pulled out of the toybox…

9/365

Uncle Sean sent us a bubble maker for the bathtub – and after Mommy made sure the batteries were facing the correct directions, it works! Thanks for making bathtime fun, again, Uncle Sean!!

8/365

We changed Jake over to his “Big Boy” Toddler bed – slightly under duress during our recent bed time battles – but it seems to be working.

A picture with no flash…

And a picture with the night shot on…you can kind of see his jammies in this one

I know, I know – ONE picture – but I used two different methods! J

7/365

Nick getting away from Jake with Jake’s “Pat” the Hammer from the Handy Manny tool set. He climbed up on his own with the help of the Elmo Sofa…

6/365

Both boys are sick with some version of something and Jake is potty training – so, this is a common occurrence here. A load in the washer, a load in the dryer and one either just finished or waiting to go in…and that’s just the boys’ clothes.

5/365

Poor Jake…he hadn’t had an ear infection (or antibiotics at all) until Christmas Weekend when he had a raging ear infection. So, we had no idea that his body breaks out into the rash when it’s breaking down the bacteria…he was COVERED – even the edges of his belly button. Poor little guy – didn’t bother him a bit and the doctor’s office says some kids just have that…

4/365

I’d call this our morning routine – but this was the day we all spent the ENTIRE day in our Jammies (Sunday). Nick slept like all day trying to get rid of his cold and Jake FINALLY didn’t wake up at 3 am (4:30 instead…)

With all the sleep after nap time – they could tolerate being in the same chair watching some Disney Channel flick, no doubt.

2/365

Checking out the new arrangement of toys. While the boys were at school on Friday, we stayed home and cleaned out some baby stuff and rearranged our living room to house all the toys in a better configuration. It is by no means perfect – but at least there is a small portion that is “organized”! J

It’s official! We’re going to Kansas this summer!! Woohooo! I know we’ve been telling everybody that since we moved here – but Matt received the first of the papertrail sending us there! Next up – Request For Orders (RFO) – look for us to be doing a jig about then! Maybe then, I’ll have to post a video for my photo of the day! J For now, we’ll settle for Matt’s look of relieved accomplishment (bet you didn’t think those words went together!)

Day 1

Where I’ll suck at this is chosing only ONE photo. Oh well. Of these, I only took one. I want to remember all of it though!

Jake & Daddy read a book while Jake wore his Mickey Ears (from August 2007).

Jake & Mommy made Spritz cookies today. Jake was gung ho about helping. He liked the cookie dough, but once he tasted one of the finished cookies, he was done – and wouldn’t even help me with the press anymore. Better luck next year, I guess…

Project 365

I have set a new goal for myself. I'm trying to take a photo a day to capture our lives. I think the boys will have a lot of fun when they go back and look someday - I know I will. As a bonus, I'll improve my photography skills. One of my friends just started hers, so I'm kind of stealing the idea. We have some great adventures and how fun will it be to document the MOVE! :) My hope is that I get used to it and it's an ongoing thing for many years to come...I'm going to start with one day. You can read more about the theory here .

I hope you enjoy it too!
